Why Everyone Is Moving to Florida

As many people who have moved to Florida will tell you, it's a pretty nice place to live. In fact, many people have relocated to the sunshine state. So why is that? What can one place offer that others don't?

Florida is one of the fastest-growing states in the United States. This can be attributed to a number of factors, but the biggest reasons many people are moving here are the warm climate, relatively low cost of living, and great lifestyle Florida offers.

Great Weather

With year-round tropical weather, Florida is a great place to live if you're looking for milder temperatures.

The summer is warm and sunny, but it's not too hot. The winters are mild, with temperatures rarely dipping below freezing. While this can be a problem for people who like snow, it's great for those who prefer sunshine and warmth.

Florida's warm climate and long growing season mean that it's ideal for agriculture as well as tourism. In fact, tourism contributes about $100 billion dollars annually to Florida's economy — more than any other industry — and employs about 1 million Floridians at hotels and resorts throughout the state. All those jobs lead us to my second point -

Job Opportunities

Florida has a strong economy that offers many job opportunities. The unemployment rate in Florida is well below the national average, and there are plenty of job opportunities for people with all different skill levels.

There are tons of different types of jobs available in Florida — from retail stores, restaurants, hospitals and even theme parks. And if you're looking for a career change, you can find something in Florida too!

"Florida is booming," says Michael Minihan, president of the International Economic Development Council. "It's an easy place to do business."

Low Cost of Living

If you're looking to live somewhere affordable, Florida may be right for you.

In most states, the cost of living is very high compared with what it would be in Florida. The rents are cheaper here for sure, but so are groceries and other basic necessities like utilities and transportation costs like gas or car insurance. You'll also find that it's much easier to save money when you live in Florida because your paycheck will go further than when you lived somewhere else like New York or California where rent prices are ridiculously high compared with what they would be in Florida.

"The cost of living is lower in Florida," said Michael Dunlap, president and CEO of Dunlap Capital Management in Miami Beach. "You can buy a home for half what you would pay in California."

Cool Culture

You'll have access to tons of entertainment and cultural activities.

You can get around easily by car which makes it easy to get around town and visit other areas of the country quickly without having to take public transportation.

It's one of the safest states in America so you don't have to worry about crime like you would if you lived in Chicago or Detroit where there's more violence happening much more frequently than in Florida.

The Arts are Thriving

The Sunshine State is a great place for the arts with an abundance of venues and museums, including Disney World and Sea World. There's also Universal Studios Orlando, which is known for its theme parks and movie studios where you can watch your favorite films being filmed live! There are also plenty of places to shop, eat out or just relax by the poolside at any time of day or night!

The Sunshine State is best known for its theme parks: Walt Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios in Orlando; Busch Gardens, Adventure Island and Water Country USA in Tampa; Legoland and the Holy Land Experience in Winter Haven; Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral; Gatorland in Orlando; Aquatica in Orlando; Marineland in Sarasota; Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch in Homestead; Cypress Gardens Family Theme Park in Winter Haven; and Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.

Great Place for Retirement

Florida is also becoming a mecca for retirees. The state's population of people 65 or older has grown by more than 6 million since 2000, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates.

The influx of retirees has made Florida one of America's fastest-growing states over the past decade or so, despite having one of the lowest birth rates in the country.

Florida has become so popular with seniors that it now ranks fourth among states for its share of people 65 or older (21 percent), behind only Maine, West Virginia and Vermont, according to Census Bureau estimates for 2017. The Sunshine State had just 11 percent of its population in this age group in 2000 — ranking just 16th among states at that time.

More than 11,300 Miles of Shoreline

Florida has great beaches - If you're looking for a relaxing vacation where you can enjoy some sun and sand, then Florida is definitely for you! There are plenty of beaches in Florida where you can go swimming or surfing all year round!

Conclusion

Florida has been a popular vacation destination for people from all over the world for many years. However, it's quickly becoming one of the most popular places in the world for people to move to permanently. There are many reasons why people choose to move to Florida, and these are just some of the big ones. We hope you move here soon too!
